The Humourous Side Of Fashion

these bags made me giggle quite excessively upon initial viewing. the first bag is supposed to the obviously famous Tinkerbell. the second is just all-around rocker-chic. i'd be more inclined towards the second one, as the first is even a little too much for me.

mad love for james piatt.
<3

A Waist Is A Terrible Thing To Mind

i adore this skirt. however, i am too hip-y, damn it. why can't extreme hour-glass shapes be 'the norm' anymore? bcdbcajks. there, rant done. back to task. regardless of an attack of insecurity, i loved how i looked & felt in this. it was my last day EVER of high school. so i felt cause for snazz-ing it up a bit.

tank; st. john's bay. borrowed from my momma.
pencil skirt; 80's piaf, stolen from my momma.
cardigan; gift from verona, italy.
belt; $1 from somewhere?
tweed heels; town shoes, $40

Random Retro

this outfit makes me unnecessarily happy. the dress was a thrifted gift and it fits me perfectly. it was a nice & sunny day, with no exam in sight so i felt like putting a dress on. due to a slight breeze that's unavoidable with living by the ocean, i threw on a cardi for practical purposes.

sidenote: i've discovered my flipper feet don't fit into gladiators. it's uber depressing. )=

navy dress w/white polka dots; thrifted.
red cardigan; thrifted.
sandals; thrifted!

Summer to Fall Must Haves

so i basically scammed this idea from the blog silk and leather [GO THERE] and just changed it up to suit my desires.
the items pictured above are drool-worthy, in my opinion.
and the list is as follows;

gladiator sandals
long cardigans
floral dresses
more deathly high heels
new faux leather bomber jacket
high-waisted pants & skirts

i will possess all these things. my gladiators are already on their way. oh the excitement!

Late Night Shenanigans

this was my attire yesterday. it was gorgeous outside, and i was going out that night so i felt like something classy. the photos are pure sketch-bag, as they were taken around 2am in my bathroom. yea, i'm that rad. anywho, i've always adored this shirt and it's hard to tell, as it all kidn of blends together, but it's a wraparound top and there is actually a collar on the shirt. yeayea, sleeveless with a collar. not usually fabulous but whatever.

shirt; thrifted.
skirt; gift!

Acne Can Be Attractive

screw their jeans [which is what they're famous for], i lovelovelove their new bounce dress, trousers, and shoes. personally, i'd never wear real leather. however, these pants are just so well constructed i can't help but pine for them just a little bit. i've got a black ankle boot almost identical to the one posted, so it's the cutout in these that i adoree. & the white shoes are to DIE for. they look smashing on the model in the first photos. damn my inability to justify 100's of dollars on one item of clothing.

ciao.

My Inner Child Exploded

yes, that is a jumper. & yes i love it. to bits. i have a red one as well. though that one verges on being entirely too lumberjack-y. when i'm feelings particularly childish and free i love to throw on otherwise untouched leggings, a jumper, and some dangly jewelry. of course, i had to grab wrap-able scarf to balance things out.

p.s. i adore my new hot pink diamond stitched flatss. =)

shirt; marilyn monroe print tee, $4
jumper; stitches? $10
leggings; my mother's from the 80's.
scarf; claire's, $1
pearls; accumulated over the years
flats; newly acquired from ardene's, $2.50

Fuck Procrastination

gig pictures from.. last thursday. i got a touch wrapped up in the happenings of life, so it's taken me awhile to simply sit down and do what i love. that is, fashion whore it up. the pictures are piss poor quality due to the fact that it's slightly awkward to be standing outside with a crowd of people smoking your face off, while randomly asking them to play photographer for a few minutes. anywho, i quite enjoyed this outfit. you can't really tell but the skirt's quite high-waisted. i felt good in it.

shirt; former band my father was in when he was 19.
skirt; high-waisted pleather. second-hand.
tank; a gift. pretty basic.

peace.

Lazy Lustings

these shoes sent me into a spasmatic fit of joy. mucho love for gucci. i don't care that they're baby pink, and once again they're on the verge of being simply 'too much.' however, i do not care. <3

sidenote: as a result of a full night of gigging, i shant be posting anything else tonight.
but i'll probably work up the energy to post the outfit i wore tonight, tomorrow.
yea.

lots of love, dolls.

Math Is Indeed Rather Important

at least, it was when i was deciding what to wear this morning.
i decided that in order to channel studious..ness, a dress shirt was in order.
'tis a discard of my brother's.
he's deemed it 'too big'.
so naturally, i snapped it up.
i particularly enjoy my belt & shoes in this outfit.
[even if the shoes do verge on overkill]

shirt; brothers discard
pants; bongo, $20
shoes; some shoe store.. $15
belt; $1

Oh Gravity, Thou Art A Heartless Bitch

'scuse me will i nerd it up for this post.
but i am thoroughly pleased with the fact that i'm able to incorporate my new favourite show into this blog.
the following photos are simply print screen'd from an episode i was watching online, so forgive me if they're not very clear.
on to the point. the big bang theory own at life, and sheldon had a surprisingly fashionable moment in i believe, episode 3.
the bright, outlandish colour combination made the episode that much more enjoyable for me.
so i've decided to document so i never forget the sheer awesomeness.
=)

oh meeeeow. this man's unintentional hilarity is just too much for me.
while i'm visiting dorkville, i might as well also post some smashing jewelery that i wish to possess.

love it! <3

Little Brothers Can Be Fashionable Too

&my little brother happens to be painfully hip.
and in reality, not so little.
more like, i'msotallicastashawdow&makeyoulooklikeamidget.
anywho, my brother's signature aviators verge on overly tacky.
however, he pulls it off.
most likely far better than i do.
but don't these glasses just put a smile on your fashion-forward face?

yay for cheap-y gold aviators. =)
p.s., don't fret. tomorrow i'll be sure to avoid the overuse of myself as a model.
the sunken in faces of 'vrai' fashion models are far more appealing anyway. <3

ciao bellas.

Exam Glam

i had history examinations today, thus causing mucho stress in my little ol' life.
so, for a pick me up, i decided to dress in brights colours & a floaty dress.
even if the exam was a bust, i felt 100% fab walking out of that room.
;)

green cardi; gift from verona, italy.
dress; gift from cuba.
shoes; $5 (claire's?)
necklace; gifted as well.

The Rise of Troy

oh dear, these shoes are most definitely a must have for summer frolicking . however, my calves cannot handle shoes of such epic proportions. i will gladly settle for something more along these lines..

come to mama, my lovelies. <3 even though ms. tori spelling is not usually high on my uber-fashionable list, i do find these shoes quite ravishing. kudos for not succumbing to Hollywood skankorexia though, love. =)

Impractical? Maybe. Irresistable? Mais Oui.

ugh, these sunglasses make me outrageously happy. i should be ashamed, but they're just too so awesomesauce.
but alas, i will never be able to wear them. i am far too incompetent/poor/lazy to sport contacts on a regular basis. besides, i heart my glasses. nerd fashion, ftw.
anywho, the next time [ie; the first time] i see someone walking around with a pair of these specs on, i'm going to march right up to them and tell them how unbelievably rad they truly are.

peace.

Inspired

This is my main inspiration. I live for fancy skirts paired with artsy tees & cute flats. my heels are saved for far more basic outfits. i'm a firm believe in picking a focal point. statement skirt? then play other pieces down. however, a t-shirt dress is the perfect time to sport a pair of sexy heels. ;) while i'm at it, i might as well post my other current inspirations.

Sasha Pivovarova - besides the fact that she is by the far one of the sexiest women alive, this lady's modeling is of epic proportions. her ability to look this raunchy, and then turn around and look positively elven & angelic for the runway astounds me. were i hell-bent on being a skinny minnie, she would be what they call pure 'thinspiration.' you'll probably see her many mentioned many a time on this blog. she is fabbity-fab. <3

Rumi [Fashion Toast] - this lovely woman is fashion personified. she's the reflection i wish to see when i look in the mirror. her ability to pair together items one would never generally even pick up amazes me. if i'm being honest here, she inspired me to start up my own blog. i can only hope to someday be half as respected as her.

Lastly, HEL looks inspires me daily. It was probably one of the first street fashion sites i fell in love with. in respect of the rules HEL looks has in place, i'm not going to recycle their pictures, but you should definitely check this shit out. [particularly Ninni on pg. 2 <3]> http://www.hel-looks.com/index.php

The Necessary Introductions

i pride myself on my thrifting ability. hence the name 'attic acrobatics.' i have a knack for sifting through piles of horrendous clothes and coming out with pieces many people wouldn't believe came secondhand. the majority of what i wear is either used, or bought at a reduced price. as they say, if you're going to go cheap, go all out cheap. besides, i'd rather come home with 10 smashing new addition to my wardrobe, as opposed to one [although equally smashing] new addition that leaves me with feeling as if i've been had.

however, i do like to torture myself. and prada's spring/summer shoe collection has me drooling incessantly. take a gander at these babies while i go wipe up my mouth.

ahh, so beautiful. i do suppose now is as good a time as any to warn you that my taste hinges on being outrageously absurd at times. consider yourself warned.

welcome to the inner workings of my mind. prepare to be blinded by loud colours, outrageous skirts, and printed tights, mixed in with the ever present graphic tees [but not those junior high nasties], black tights, and the classic chucks.
